Leaving Islam is not uncommon among first-generation Muslim American youth.
Risk behaviors—such as substance use or inappropriate relationships—are often committed in secret and are even more common.
Confident Muslim identity in wider society develops through many emotionally and spiritually uplifting experiences with Islam.
Instilling Islamic values in a predominantly non-Muslim environment requires consistent reinforcement between the home, school, and masjid.
Building young leaders who positively impact the world requires years of structured mentorship and intentional guidance.

Vision

To cultivate a nurturing and engaging environment where students gain deep Islamic knowledge, embody its values with sincerity and excellence, and develop into devoted Muslims who uphold their faith, serve their communities with compassion, and positively impact the world as ambassadors of Islam.

Goals

Tajan Quran Institute offers a comprehensive program designed to bridge the gap between secular and Islamic education for students. More than a typical weekend school, Tajan addresses the unique needs of our youth by providing  a well-rounded curriculum firmly rooted in Islamic Tarbiyah. Our program runs 3-5 days a week from Sunday through Thursday (afterschool).

Allah says in the Quran (15:9):                                                                                                  “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Quran, and indeed, We will be its guardian”

The Prophet (saws) said, “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”  Sahih Al-Bukhari

The Prophet, sallallahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, said, “Whoever reads the Quran, learns it, and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection, his parents will be given a crown (Tajan) to wear whose light will be like the light of the sun, and his parents will be given garments which far surpass everything that is found in this world. They will say, ‘Why have we been given this to wear?’ It will be said, ‘Because your child learned the Quran.”            [Mustadrak al-Hakim]
